  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup ketchup (plus extra for glazing)
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped onions until translucent; add minced garlic for another minute.
  3. In a bowl, combine ground beef, sautéed onions and garlic, breadcrumbs, eggs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf on a lined baking sheet and spread additional ketchup on top.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for about 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
