  • Fresh basil or oregano (to taste)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Cook the ziti pasta in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef; drain excess fat. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  3. Mix marinara sauce with the browned meat; let simmer.
  4. In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, half of the Parmesan, salt, and pepper until creamy.
  5. Layer a baking dish: spread some meat sauce, add half of the cooked pasta, spoon half of the ricotta mixture, sprinkle mozzarella, then repeat layers.
