  • 4 slices Swiss cheese

  • 4 slices rye bread
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  2. Form Patties: Season the ground beef with salt and pepper, shaping it into patties slightly larger than the bread slices.
  3. Cook Patties: Increase heat to medium-high and sear patties for 4-5 minutes per side. Top each with Swiss cheese during the last minute to melt.
  4. Assemble Sandwiches: Butter one side of each slice of rye bread. Layer caramelized onions, cheesy patties, and top with another slice (buttered side out).
