  • 2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients; chop onion, bell peppers, and garlic.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil. Sauté the smoked sausage until golden brown.
  3. Add diced onion and bell peppers; cook until softened.
  4. Stir in garlic and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
  5. Boil the penne pasta according to package directions until al dente; reserve some pasta water before draining.
  6. Pour heavy cream into the skillet with sausage and veggies; stir in Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer until slightly thickened.
  7. Add drained pasta to the skillet along with reserved pasta water as needed; mix well until coated in the creamy sauce.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
