- 4 medium Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 cup whole milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and sauté onions until translucent. Add ground beef, cooking until browned.
- Stir in sliced potatoes, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika until well-coated.
- Pour in milk while stirring continuously; simmer briefly.
- In a greased baking dish, layer half of the beef-potato mix followed by half of the cheese. Repeat layers with remaining mixture and cheese on top.
- Bake uncovered for 30-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
