Ingredients
Scale
- 2 fresh jalapeños
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Halve the jalapeños and remove seeds for milder flavor. Place cut side up on a baking sheet and roast for about 15 minutes until softened.
- In a bowl, combine softened cream cheese and shredded cheddar. Optionally, mix in garlic powder or cumin for additional flavor.
- Spread the cheesy mixture on one side of each slice of sourdough. Top one slice with roasted jalapeños, then close the sandwich.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat. Melt butter and grill the sandwich for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and the cheese melts.
- Cut in half and serve hot, either plain or with your favorite dipping sauce.
