Description

Indulge in the ultimate comfort food with these creamy mashed potatoes. Fluffy, buttery, and irresistibly smooth, they are the perfect side dish for any meal. Whether it’s a cozy family dinner or a festive gathering, this recipe will elevate your dining experience and leave everyone craving more.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cut into 12 inch chunks
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup whole milk (or heavy cream for extra richness)
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cloves garlic, roasted (optional)

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into even-sized chunks.
  2. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a generous pinch of salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat and simmer until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot over low heat to dry out for a few minutes.
  4. Add the butter and milk (or cream) to the potatoes. Mash until smooth or leave some lumps for a rustic feel. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
