Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until well combined.
  3. Allow the mixture to cool slightly before whisking in eggs one at a time and then adding vanilla extract.
  4. In a bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually fold into the wet mixture until just combined; avoid overmixing. Stir in chocolate chips if using.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs. Let cool before cutting.
